Run paces in new calculator

Hi gang, just did my test and am wanting to input my new paces. Went to link on the master copy of the EN training calculator and I see that the types they have down for paces is

Easy/long

Marathon

Threshold

Interval

So....no HMP. How do we calculate that? Am I missing something?

  • B,

I believe we go to the attackpoint VDOT calculator ( http://bit.ly/PcwROM ) input your VDOT and grab the half-marathon time from the table on the right: "VDot equivalents". Calculate that HM pace to get your HMP/z3 pace.

Personally I think its just as easy to use the attackpoint calc instead of the sheet to figure the times out:

    E/L =z1, M=z2, T=z4, and take half-mary time/13.1 for HMP=z3.

  • no you are not missing.   not there.

    could use http://www.runbayou.com/jackd.htm

    enter your 5 k time.

this will give your half time (and vdot).

then calculate the pace from that.

  • It's usually around 20 sec faster. It's never been in attack pointe. Hope that helpsimage
  • @Brenda - I did it this morning after my test. Coach P's video at http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cInXoZVlMO was very helpful in walking me through it. But essentially, for HMP, I inserted my time into the EN training zone calculator and it gave me my HMP. I then plugged the # in as I did the other zones. Good luck!
  • yes it is a work in progress I have used attack point it is very easy however the half marathon pace is not included on the right hand side of the attack point page is where you will find your half marathon pace. goto Runners World or Google pace calculator plug your numbers in and that will give you your pace. it is always a good idea to have a copy of your zones anyway.

Ahhh thank you!  I was wondering for the HMP myself.  This makes so much sense!
