Less than 7 weeks to Boston... Who is in?

I know it not recommended and I run the risk of getting a kick in the nutz... but I am running Boston again this year.   It  will be my third go at it and I am looking for a PR.  I think it is doable.

Anyone else in for the fun of it or something more?

My first was in 2010 and the weather was perfect but I trashed my quads early flying way too fast on the early hills.  Last year was a suffer-fest but an excellent day for staying focused on race execution.  My finish time wasn't great but respectable in the heat.   I just want one last chance to PR at Boston.  It's going to be "Go big, or go home" kind of race.

So, who is in?

  • I've qualified for the past three years but have never run it. I ran my qualifier for this years race at the end of April and was screwed up because of it until July. I've chosen to focus on my Ironman, and do just half mary's this year.
  • I am in!!!! C'mon there have to be more...I know Jeff Braaten is in....
  • I'm in. After growing up watching it from the sidelines for years this will be my first time running it - very pumped for the 15th
  • @Dan, that's awesome...it's such a great race!
  • Congrats Dan!

Looks like a slim crew this year.... unless there are a bunch of lurkers...

Corral assignments should be coming out soon. I'm likely to be towards the back of wave 2

  • I'm in again this year.  This will be my 4th in a row.  2010  I came into the race injured (calf strain)thinking " I'll just do my best"  did well until the Framingham train station then the leg went...was quite the struggle from there. Finished 3:35:xx.  2011 "the dream weather race" set a PR of 3:08:24  can't beat a tail wind and 47 degree weather.  2012 "heat wave"  the word of the day was "man down" but finished at 3:39:xx.  Almost passed out under the Mass ave. underpass just before Hereford. 2013 " ?" Hope to meet up again this year at Legal Seafood with EN like last year.
