A couple of years ago I went for a physical. Part of the physical was an EKG and during the EKG I totally relaxed as I wanted to ace the test. I guess I did OK as my doctor was concerned with my low heart rate an sent me for testing. One of the tests was running on a tend mil as the incline was slowly increased. Idea of the test was to get the heart rate up to the maximum predicted rate. I think I maxed at 78% of the predicted rate. To end the test I waved at the tech and he slowed the tread mill. My quads were on fire!. Next time I would do some hill work before the test as this was the limiting factor for me. As PnR say fitness is in your legs.
To avoid the test altogether I plan to never relax during an EKG again.
