Where to buy a used bike?

Check Craig's list. Make sure of size, no frame damage, and go ride the bike.

Landry's of Westboro, MA (USA) is having a used bike consignment sale in April. If you know what you're looking for they maybe able to hold it for you if it comes into the sale.

Catherine-- I thought of you today... I saw a pretty decent "New" bike on chainlove that was very reasonably priced. It was a Ridley Dean RS/SRAM Apex Complete Bike for $1,299.99 (orig $2,895 retail price). If you go here: http://sacalerts.com/history.php and put Ridley in the search box on the top right, you'll see it. click on the link just under the bike that says "5 times" and you will see that latest price. If you call Backcountry, they will likely sell you the bike at that best price if they still have any left... 800-409-4502 and they'll probably even ship internationally for you. I've dealt with a guy there named James R. in the past at ext. 4375, but I would imagine anyone could help you at that number if you tell them you saw the deal on Chainlove. When I saw it on chainlove.com today, they had all sizes available. I also forget what size you are. I often come across people buying or selling used bikes and have a friend selling a decent 56cm QR Seduza for $1,000. But I think I remember you being smaller than that...

Hi John - thank for all the info!
Looked at the Ridley and it looks nice but not too keen on the color scheme... I know I'm picky but won't buy another bike in a long time so I'd rather buy something I really like.
Didn't know that website, so I'll check back often!

Like the Trek very much. Sounds like it might be a winner.

I'm 5' 7 so I think a 52-54 will fit me better...

Catherine, I am a sucker for Ebay and craigslist. Keep an eye on ebay because i tend to find more there than on craigslist.
