Sometimes it goes well, other times...

I was in an indoor Time Trial today. My plan was to stick to 220 watts, just over my FTP of 214. It was going great for the first 2 of the 6.03 mile course when my chain came off. After a brief delay the Tech put the chain back on. Unfortunately it appears he hit my brake (under the bottom bracket) and when I started riding again those were the hardest watts I had ever experienced. Next the CompuTrainer got stuck at 3.66 miles, showing me in last place at 430 watts. After a few minutes of that I stopped pedaling. That was finally fixed, and I started riding again, legs burning for every watt. It was painful to hit 120 watts. Only after I finally finished and got the back off the trainer and the rear wheel would not move was the brake pressing against the rim discovered. So it goes. Still got a free beer.

  • Larry it was good to see you again. Sorry about all your technicalities . Better at a tiny indoor race than your "A" race. Plenty of time to get it all sorted out.
  • Way to get all the mechanicals out of the way early - now you don't need to worry about that for the rest of the season!
