2013 Tucson Spring National Rally - Day 3 Report
Wow, another epic day in the books! I can't believe it's all over...typing this as I head home on "Southwest" airlines I already miss my teammates. From "Six Flat" Trevor to "Pit Stop" Patricia to "KOM Mickey" you are all awesome. My one regret was not giving Stephanie's bike a proper goodbye -- we got to know each other so well! More coming soon from me, but I certainly hope you decide to join us again in 2014 (insider deal pending).
The agenda for today was simple: Ride Mount Lemmon. An approximate 24 mile ascent, the climb is renown for being a local and national test of fitness. Topping out around 9,000 feet, the climb is steady without being punishing. The road quality is great and the views and vegetation are amazing.
We were supported by the owner/CEO of TriSports (Seton) and it was as epic as planned. The fastest folks did the climb in just over two hours; some took 3+ hours to soak up the experience. As hard as the climb up was, the descent made up for it all...not really pedaling for an hour (68' for me) is quite an adventure!
After we returned, it was time to get ready for our dinner at the Tanque Verde Ranch. A wild west affair with amazing food and drink...and very cool temps. This was an opportunity to raffle off some great swag from our sponsors (bags, yurbuds, nutrition, tribiketransport) and the grand prize -- Endurance Nation reimbursing one lucky Jennifer Eckhert for her upcoming A race (Ironman Tahoe).
There was an informal conversation with Jimmy Riccitello, as he shared some great stories and insights into our sport. We closed out the night by trying to leave Jenny Wingad (and Gabby!) behind to work on the ranch forever, then it was back to the hospitality room for a final dishing out of swag and some goodbyes!
Many thanks to all of you who attended. We had a blast and hope you can join us for our 2014 adventure!

@Dave
Jimmy is super mellow. He somehow managed to keep a straight face during his talk despite someone lighting lassos on fire and cracking bullwhips in the background.
I think everyone I rode with/spoke with had a great time, too. The general vibe was energetic and super positive.
