Prague in July
The wife just found out that she was selected to present a paper she co-authored at a nursing convention in Prague in late July. We're making a mommy/daddy Euro-trip out of it. I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations on do's-don't from anyone with experience with the area. We'll be there for ~9 days. Due to her convention commitments, we won't have the opportunity for any significant travel outside the city, but I'm sure there is enough good stuff within the city itself to keep us entertained. Open to any and all suggestions, especially those not Swim/Bike/Run related.
Thanks!

Watch the first mission impossible with Tom cruise...lots of cool Prague location in the movie.
Hopefully someone else has been there more recently and can give some more specifics...
Roy - was in Prague April '12. My daughter Bridget (doing Quassy/IMLP) spent last spring's semester in Krakow, and Prague was one of the cities I got to while visiting her. Fantastic city! Historic, ancient, eminently walkable. From the train station to Old Town Square, Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall, Kafka Museum, Prague Castle (excellent hill repeats opportunity). I see you don't expect to travel much outside Prague but 9 days is a long time in one city, especially with so many other tempting cities nearby. I took the overnight train from Krakow to Prague and back to Krakow. I highly recommend you consider the same in reverse. See Krakow, another wonderful city, also ancient, historic; and you would get to visit Auschwitz/Birkenau, a life altering experience in itself. PM me as I would be happy to talk with you offline, share photos. I should ask Bridget if she would talk to you, she's the family pro in that part of the world.
I echo what everyone else said, and can only add that the public transit was excellent however I have had friends pick pocketed, after too many beers, so be aware. I also went swimming and played beach volleyball on the river. Great fun in summer.
@Chris, I may be in touch a little closer to our trip for some advice. Thanks!
