groin/lower hip flexor

Out for my run last night, as always I warm up with 10min easy then 4x30 second strides before the mile repeats. On the last one I felt a twinge in the lower hip flexor or groin area than 2-3 strides later a felt and heard a "pop". Within a few seconds I was hobbled over. Turned off garmin and started to walk home. Painful, managed to flag down a motorist as my wife and other running mates were on a different route. The gentleman drove me home, and I got up the stairs and began to ice.

Problem is, long-long weekend is upon us, the 2 practionaires I see are both away, and backups have no space until next Tue.

Today, it is more a dull-ache, little to know strength if trying to squeeze inwards. Little discomfort just sitting and slight limp when walking.

Anyone ever experience this poping? I played hockey for decades and know what a torn groin is but this feels different. I am having some pain referring to the glute. It is also not a snap which tends to be more about ligaments and joints.

  • I have not been quite in your place but I have been battling a groin/hip flexor/abdominal issue. No popping but I do have the occasional 'keeled-over' moment.

Hope you get it sorted out!
