Looking for bottles that don't leak!

One of my pet peeves about the cheap bottles (which I've accumulated quite the stash of over the past few years from variou sevents) is that it seems they leak fluid.  If it's just water, no big deal, but if it's gatorade, then I end up with a sticky bottle and that just annoys me.

Are there any particular bottles people use that don't leak, or is the solution simply to invest in something more expensive than the $5 cheap-o's?

  • Ryan, I've got a bunch of Camelback Podium and several EN bottles (Specialized, Purist I think). Never had a problem with any of those. Typical $5 bike shop bottles suck. Valves stick and/or leak.

I'd rather pay good money for something that works all the time and will last than suffer with junk.
  • And look at that - they have them at REI and I just got my dividend check thingie in from REI. Guess I know what it is going towards - thanks for the tip!
  • I agree with Steve. I have all Camelback bottles and never have or had an issue with them.
  • I LOVE my EN bottles (Specialized Purist). Never tried the camelback bottles, so can't speak for those.
  • x1000 for both the CamelBak Podium and Specialized Purist bottles.
  • I go with the Fuel Belt bottle. No leaks and I love the cap that you dont need to pull up the nozzle to open, you just squeeze the bottle or suck your drink through it...
  • Don't need to pull the nozzle on the CamelBak bottles either.
  • The Camelbak Podium bottles: hands down the best.
  • I like the Camelbacks too, but because of the extra insulation, I find that they hold less liquid. Funny how we all have tons of bottles and covet the few leak free ones!
  • Love my EN-branded Specialized Purist. Well worth the extra cost.
