Nearing the End - Getting ready for the Next Step

Hey everyone-

I'm sure that as of when I am writing this (beginning of Week 13), we are all thinking mostly about getting through this relatively beastly week of workouts... but it's also time to start thinking about what you're going to do when you're done!

The coaches are setting up a JOS Exit Webinar for Monday, April 8 at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific time.

If you can't come, I am pretty sure they will post the link to the meeting after the fact, as was done for NOS.

  • I am signed up. See ya' there.
  • Have a board meeting that will invariably run until 8pm and then I need to get home which will mean 8:30pm, so I am out.
  • Ripcord to the HIM plan for me...no week 14 and no testing...I've loaded up the HIM plan and as of tomorrow am starting week 12 of 20 with an end date of 6/9 and 70.3 Kansas. Actually the scary part is that the American TTT race is little more than 6 weeks away...not a lot of time to add volume...and although I'm doing that race essentially as an epic training weekend leading up to Kansas, this will be a very compressed and accelerated "build" from the OS to a massive volume race.

It's been great "training" with everyone this OS and I plan to post my in-season workouts as usual...once I find out where to post them!

    Cheers,
    Matt
  • I won't be able to get to the webinar, but I have a question. Perhaps others have the same question. After finishing OS, I have 1 week transition (vacation in Utah with the grandchildren) and then right into week 1 of my race plan. Since we always test in week 1 of the plans, I was wondering if I should do the tests this week, or just get one more week of hard work before my transition.
  • Headed to the get faster plan (bike) until switch over to IM Wisc training in June. Looking forward to racing and meeting many of you at Racine.

    Keep up the hard work.

    Carl
  • Bob - I think it just depends on what you want to do...there's no wrong answer. In your case, testing outdoors on week 1 makes the most sense, and you can decide whether just to do generic hard week this week or whether to actually taper a bit and do the (presumably) indoor test to compare to your previous numbers.
  • William - I decided to test on the bike and wait for the run. I'm sure that will be fine.
  • Thanks for volunteering to be an OS captain. That's when we need it most
