Team Dinner and Other Fun Stuff

Hello Texas peeps, just wanted you to know that I am currently in the process of trying to arrange for a Thursday Team Dinner, High Fives Post Race Meet Up and Breakfast locations for the race. It is my hope to have this in place within in next week.

We are also going to arrange a webinar with the coaches before the race. Once I have the details available I will be posting in here. Keep your eyes open.

I'm excited for you all.

  • You rock Brenda.... Dont know how you do it all.... Sorry no one responded to your team captain request.... BTW that just came up in the IMTX forum.... If it wasnt an A race for me I would do it... Most of us are so wrapped up in the race I think it would be hard to take on.... Not sure if anyone is NOT racing ....
  • I'm gonna help out with eating locations now that I'm not racing.
  • Thank you Bob. It is going to be a big help. I will be in touch. Just sent Penny a message.
  • Brenda a couple of options on locations:

If people are wanting to get pasta prerace - Carrabbas, Macaroni Grill and Buca di Beppo are close the race site. Then the restaurants start going up in price Leonardos, Brio,Grotto or down in quality Olive Garden, Amerigos.

A couple of other general meetup type places in the area that are good: Yucatan Taco Stand, The Counter (Burgers), Cafe Express, BerryHill Tamales (Fish Tacos), Panera Bread

For breakfast options, it is a little limited: Cafe Express, The Egg and I, Black Walnut Cafe

High Fives for the Race - There are a couple of locations for meet up after the race. Last year Patrick and I met up at Grimaldi's Pizza. It is right by the finish line, easy to get to and has outdoor seating so it is easy to keep track of our Peeps. There is also Goose's Acre that has a patio that is right on the run course.

Penny and I should be around, but not sure about our schedules that week yet. I am taking a mental health "week" so I should be around. Let us know what else you need.
  • Fabulous stuff John. If you were to recommend two of the restaurants for dinner which two would you recommend and is it order off the menu or buffet style?
  • Hi Brenda:

Thanks for making all the arrangements!

    Joanna
  • Not made yet Joanne, but in the works.
  • Brenda, a coworker's mother is the office manager for the Cheesecake Factory in The Woodlands. She might be able to set us up with something. I'll check on that.  They have a very extensive menu... in addition to some awesome cheesecake.

  • Bob, that would rock. Thank you. I will give Coach P an update on what is going on when I speak with him this week.
  • Brenda,

All of the restaurants are sit down, no buffet. We had a friend in culinary school and after the class on food safety we don'd dop buffets anymore image. If we can get into Cheesecake that would be great. Carrabbas has a good selection as well.
  • I got the Cheesecake Factory.
  • Awesome... Thanks Bob....

Never been to a Cheesecake factory and was quite surprised at the menu when I checked it out... Plenty of healthy and even Vegan options!
