  • Larry, That's awesome in a sick sort of way!!!!

  • Congrats--in a sick sort of way! Looking forward to that RR!

  • WOW! and envious a bit, but not too much ;-)
  • Wow- that's just fantastic! Very happy for you and looking forward to living through you vicariously as you train and race it!
  • Very Cool Larry. I take it you would be interested in joining me for some long rides this spring/summer :-)
  • Larry that's so cool

I guess as you didn't specify you'll be doing both the run and the MTB events

  •  GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!

  • Now can you get me in some how??   THis  is a must do race for me someday.  I'll hook up with you and Mancona this spring and summer and we'll crush each other just to get you used to maybe some little portion of what the day will be like.

  • Yeah, so is it the bike or the run? I'm assuming it's the bike. Either way let me know if you might be out here in CO for a training camp...You'd probably kick our butt's but DH and I might be up for some recon rides...Also I know some folks who've done it if that might be helpful.
  • SWEEEEET!!!! I want to be a part of your training rides...we need to hook up.
  • That's awesome! Definitely an adventure!

  • @Larry, great job! Enjoy!

The lottery gods were not nice to me or Aaron Smith this year, we didn't get chosen.
  • How fun! I'll totally join the NIL crowd in trying to hang on to your training rides!
  • yes the MTB....do I look like a Tarahumara???

And yes....I will need some long ride training partners this summer. Thanks for the offer, and let me know when you want to ride. ToC should give me a good base though.

I am definitely excited. I've wanted to do this race for a while.
  • Congrats enjoy! Looking forward to the race report already.
  • Congrats Larry (and welcome back to the forums!)
  • Even my wife is stoked for u! This is on the someday list. I'm happy to add another pain seeker to that northern il long bike crew.

Sooooo glad someone asked for that clarification!!!  I simply assumed it was the Ultra Marathon!!!!  I guess that's just shows my own bias!  The MTB race sounds awesome too!

  • Can someone figger out how to get a helmet cam on him? Nemo? image

Who Me???  I don't know nothing 'bout no helmet cams!!

Paging Hayes to the courtesy phone!!!!

  • We can hook him up! I've got the helmet mount for the Gopro camera and I think they have a bike mount now too. We're gonna need a lot of memory cards to cature 100 miles

Nemo - you could sign up next year for the Leadman/Leadwoman event.  The 100 mile MTB race and the 100 mile Ultra Marathon.  I think you have 2 weeks to rest between the two.  Should be enough...right

I think they need to rename that the "Deadwoman" event!

  • if you ride Leadville for 10 years, you can avoid the lottery with an automatic entry and on your 10th year you get a really cool belt buckle. just a little "Did you know". In a few years they will change the name of this race to LANCEville 100, the place is crazy when Lance is in town. Leadville is an awesome place to not only ride, but to ski too.
