PLEASE READ: If I were an EN athlete this is how I would use the Macro Forum...

If I were an EN athlete interested in receiving prompt and efficient feedback to all of my macro, big picture questions, this is what I would do:

  1. Create my own super special Macro Thread. Something a title like "TriTimmy's Personal Macro Thread"
  2. No need to subscribe to the thread. Coach Rich has set the default settings so that you are automagically subscribed to any thread you start in this forum. But if you need to do something different, you'll find that option under Additional Options below.
  3. I'd post my first Macro question in my special Macro Thread, wait to receive Coach Rich's most awesome reply via email. Problem solved!
  4. I would then simply post future questions in this same TriTimmy's Personal Macro Thread. This would keep all my awesome conversations with Coach Rich all one place for us both to reference conveniently and easily.

Anyway...that's what I would do

  • I suspect this was aimed directly at me.  Makes perfect sense....just didn't think about doing it last night...some of us aren't as computer/techno-savvy as RnP!

Nope, was just thinking about to make this more efficient while walking to the office (Starbucks)

  • Your "office card" should have a higher balance today! ??

  • Thanks! I've gotten very good at making a $1.65 coffee last all. day.
  • RnP - unable to make the LP Rally this year (working the weekend!) which is unfortunate since last year's rally was awesome! Last year's back to back biking the full course really raised my conditioning and confidence bar, along with Coach P talks! So instead I'm thinking of driving out (7 hrs) the weekend before and biking the full course one day and running 1 loop the next day, then driving home. I would prefer to bike the full route 2 x's but due to time restrictions can only do full bike route 1x. I feel time on the course would be helpful (note I completed IMPL last year). Interested in your opinion re: value of this alternate plan, thanks.

Riding on the course you're going to race is always good, but I don't think a 14hr drive for one ride of the course would be worth it, for me anyway.

  • This is great - I don't know how many times I've tried to go back to find what you have told me in the past
  • Hi Rich, I'm new here, and don't see how to create a new thread?

  • Brian, click the 'add new topic' button, write in a title and go from there!
  • Hey Coaches,

AAARRRGGH.....I had an encounter with a car while riding my bike 2 weeks ago. Good news is I bounce well, just bruised, nothing broken. However, now behind in my training as I dialed back a lot to recover. Still can't swim too far(2000 is longest without pain), no power in my arm but it is getting better daily. Anyway, IM Wales is getting closer and closer. I'm not sure how to get back into the game. I'm planning on going for the 6 hour bike with 1 hour run on Sat, but I'm not sure if I can do all that......any suggestions?????

Probably want to post this in the Macro/Micro thread area, don't want to try and hijack this one.
