Adamo - OUCH
Ladies (and gentleman if you care to chime in) -- I've been on my TT bike 7 long rides now trying out the Adamo. Each time I've gotten off bruised from the wide horn. Today was especially frustrating seeing that I was to do my race rehearsal brick run. My groin was so incredibly sore, I decided to stay in and ice. Thankfully, no real damage was done.
My LBS says that those particular saddles take some getting used to, tweaking up down, etc., which I have done twice now. My gut is telling me to get it OFF. Any suggestions on other saddles to try that have worked for you? I'm thinking to try the Cobb next? How long should I test these suckers out? Thanks gang. EB

Ouch, indeed! I have an Adamo as well but I got used to it in more like two rides. I think seven is PLENTY! Get your bruised bits off that thing and time to move on.... IMO.
Best of luck! -J
If you like I can post a pic so you know exactly what I'm talking about.
1. Which Adamo are you using?
2. Is it fit/setup properly? Who set it up and how did they do it?
The Adamo is all about getting the right fit.
If it just doesn't work for you then you might want to try the Cobb V-Flow Plus. Very similar split nose system to the Adamo. The Plus is narrower than the Adamo and narrower than the Cobb V-Flow Max.
Specialized just came out with a new saddle that's generating a lot of buzz. It's called the Sitero. You might want to look into that as well.
Emily,
The Breakaway (and its lighter sister, The Podium) are more road saddles than they are TT/Tri saddles. That's not to say they won't work in the aero position but it's not the primary focus of that saddle. The Race, Time Trial, and Prologue might be better Adamo options. The new Attack saddle is also a more narrow option.
It also sounds like maybe the saddle wasn't setup the best.

Todd at TTBikeFit is a guru at Adamo fitting. Reach out to him.
I agree with what was mentioned above...If the saddle is set up correctly (no matter what saddle you choose) and your fit is good, then the adjustment period is much quicker.
I went from an older Adamo (believed to be the Road) to the newer Prologue. I cannot imagine riding a traditional saddle. The Prologue is a bit longer and the nose a tad softer versus the Road.
Hmm...I switched to Adamo Prologue Last year...and had some challenges with the width of the nose as well...I have used the zipp ties to pull the nose together a bit....I ride well out on the end of the nose most of the time...recently I have had some increaed discomfort when I tried raising the saddle...I have since moved it back down and the discomfort has subsided...
my only point is...I think the Adamo geomotry (split nose) is the best...but a.) the width does take some adjustment (but 7 rides is more than enough)...b.) Height and Fore/Aft adjustment must be correct...and that my be your biggest issue...
Lastly; the Prologue is TT/Triathlon focused and has more padding (not alot bt more than the predecessor).....
Good Luck!

^^^^ This. I was having major issues and even had horrible sores from the Cobb V-Flow Max. I swapped it out for a Cobb V-Flow Plus, which has a LOT of cushion, and am even thinking of switching to the Cobb V-Flow as it is the same just without so much padding.
Ginger is amazing and John and another person at Cobb are bike seat fit gurus. They will work with you step by step to get the saddle set up nicely - and I mean nicely!
