5 k time trial

Hi coaches. I am at week 14 of beginner Iron man plan, 6 weeks to my first IM in Cairns

looking ahead to week 17 I see there is a bike heart rate time trial and a swim race rehearsal but no 5 k time trial. this would mean I would be racing on my Vdot from 2 weeks ago

Is that right?

  • @David very few folks experience vDOT improvements (or degradation) at that point in the year. If you notice improvements/changes in your ability to sustain paces during your workouts, then we can talk about working a test in....
  • Thanks Patrick. sort of a relief . on my long runs now those zone 2 sessions are hard! you can have those extra 30 seconds on zone 1 and then some! the way you've set up the training , and the steps up and down within a session, teach me a lot more than words can . it's all so intertwined. it's not really a jigsaw puzzle- it's more like topology.
