The semi-official Gripe About the Weather thread

Sorry gang, I'm unloading.  Then someone in North Dakota can tell me how great I have it.  :-)  It was FINALLY nice last weekend, but...

  • Today's very long run was indoors again because of wind/snow/ice/rain falling this morning
  • Tomorrow, I can live with another short indoor run while it rain/snows
  • Saturday's long brick is going to be indoors because it's going to be 35 degrees, 25 wind chill, and raining until mid afternoon.  And that's when I have to take kids to soccer.
  • Sunday's ABP ride will at least be dry, according to current forecasts, although it still may be in the low 40s outside when I have to do it.

Then it gets "nice" again, just in time for the early-part-of-the-week short workouts....

  • May 3rd, and here in North TX this morning...41 degrees!

My body can handle hot (not WELL, but still), it does ok with cold (layers and layers), but all this hot/cold/hot/cold stuff is killing me (and my immune system). I keep fighting coming down with something, and do mostly napping these days as my workouts to do so!
  • @ Jenks - I'm with you. Up in northeast Minnesota, record 50+ inches of snow in April. Nice last weekend but I was on call ((obviously)). Now more snow, temps in the 30's again. Long run inside (again). Long ride tomorrow inside (again). This is why I will never do a serious early season race ever again. Got creamed at CDA last year.
  • While I feel your pain,  it lessens mine to see other people are struggling with bad weather too.  Thanks guys!
