Anne's Macro Plan

I'm currently in week 2 of the Get Faster to end June 30. A new 13.1 is being offered in my area on June 22 and I wanted to get feedback on adding this to my calendar. Mentally I think it would be of benefit to have a "goal" for June, but also don't want it to take away from the bigger picture of GF for my IM in October. Thoughts? And which run could I add a few miles to in order to prepare for the 13.1 (I was thinking Sunday?)?

Thanks,
Anne

  • Yep, that would be a great race/target for your GF plan. And just use the results of the half marathon as your end-of-the-GF test, vice the 5k in wk8.

  • Rich I have two questions pertaining to two upcoming weeks. I am currently in the week 6 of the Advanced IM 20 week program. Next week I will need to travel for work on Wednesday-Thursday, thus interrupting my ability to do my long Thursday run. I will still be able to run, but doubt that given the scheduling I will be able to go longer than 60 minutes. What do you suggest? Could I switch Tuesday and Thursday? or do the long run on Friday? Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Also, on the week of the BTD is a local metric century ride that I was interested in participating in. I could swim before but it would take me about 45 minutes to get to the event and start the bike. I'm very flexible and not going to be devastated to not do the ride, as my foremost concern is preparation for my ironman, so just looking for feedback on the best course of action.
