Should Satish do a Duathlon at the end of week17 HIM plan?

1/2 Marathon went well at week 15- followed the EN pacing guidelines which made the race feel like 14k of just running along, 5k of racing, and 1.5 or so k of gutting it out! In other words- FUN!  I am definitely a step or two slower than I used to be prior to injury, something I would like to work on this fall when the tris are out of the way!

Looking forward to big tri week for week 16 (this week coming up).  

At the end of week 17 HIM int plan (with 3 weeks to go to my A race at Tremblant) there is a local duathlon that literally takes place across the street from my house (June 2, Sunday).  I have never done a duathlon but I'm wondering if I could/should do this one, to get some practice with transitions etc.  Its a 5k run, 20k bike, 3k run, closed course.

  • Satish, congrats on the race! I think that you can do that Duathlon, should be fun and would be a great way to get you in the mood for racing. It's between Race Rehearsal weekends so minimal costs to you....as we get closer we can decide how to modify the week!
