20 miler today. I'm trying to leverage HIM training into a marathon a few weeks later. Long story short, I have reason to try to qualify for Boston next year, which means a 7:50 pace minimum for me. Ran the 20 pretty steady with an average of 7:41.
Wow that was hell of a long run! Had to give up 5min before the third 30" Z2 repeat was finished. Had no energy and motivation left ... Probably lost it in the bad headwind I had that interval. Did 32km in 2:17 bringing home a rTSS of over 220!
Final 20 miler on Saturday before Vancouver USA Marathon on June 16th. Going for a BQ of 3:14:xx. Standard is 3:25:00 but want to ensure my acceptance. I was targeting a 7:55 pace but doing Patricks pace strategy I was able to knock it out with a 7:45 pace and the final mile was at 6:09 pace. And that was after a 71 mile week.
