Ironman Texas Haiku
Black water beckons- Flailing arms, legs and bodies
In the churning lake.
Winds envelop me, Sun is shining in glory, I ask for water.
The sun heats up skin, I am the girl on fire.
One step of many.

@Tom: I wish my brain was even functioning during the run. I was actually going to write a traditional race report yesterday but then I decided to write a 3 stanza haiku to reflect my experiences. I think I wanted to something quick and easy as opposed to what the race was actually like for me. Congrats on your race execution!

Under the lights
Joanna finishes, head held high.
The crowd applauds.
I could google it, but what are the Haiku rules again? Doesn't it need a cherry blossom reference?
@Jess: I'm impressed that you can actually create haikus on your long rides, I'm usually wondering where I can find a spot to pee!
@Tim: Congrats on your awesome finish!
@Cary: How was AmZof?
@Al: THANK YOU!
@Dino: Haiku rules are 5/7/5!
