David's Adventures
My job situation may have calmed down some that will allow me to mentally get back into a competition mode. So looking ahead I bring to the table a base of 40-60 miles a week bike and 12/20 miles a week run with zero swim. I don't really want to get back in the pool this season so I'm thinking duathlon. My thoughts were to jump into them, sprint/olympic duoathlons as I carry that fitness. Now I'm looking ahead at
Sept 8 Via Marathon a C race.
Bassman October 6 a HIM Duo 3.1 run 57.2 bike 1/2 marathon run. An A race
November 17 Bucks County marathon, an A race
Currently, I'm doing a OS plan hacked with HM plan, EN OS bike plan and Run Less Run Faster Plan by Runners World which suggests 3 days a week running.
Mon Vo2 run, Tue Vo2 Bike, Wed off as two days of VO2 kicks my butt, Thur Tempo run, Fri Tempo bike, Saturday Long run, Sunday off I always use this as my family day... the following week is 3 bike 2 run days I just flip flop the bike run to balance things out.

I don't like that schedule, frankly, considering that you're taking that into a marathon on September? Running 3x/wk is the minimum. A week of 2x is big step backwards, in my opinion. More effective scheduling would enable/allow you to run consistently 4x/wk. Mixing dedicated Vo2 bike and run sessions with dedicated Tempo bike and run sessions each week will really begin to not play well with your long run as it begins to dial up for the marathon.
Finally, I don't see a long bike in there. In short, the week you described is one we would never write for someone and is pretty far away from the EN plans.
Half marathon plan through the half Du. That said, reach out to Patrick in the last 3wks of that plan for his guidance for changes to make to the run in anticipation of...
Switch over to the marathon plan after the half.
