LC's micro thread

Hi Coaches~ I am on week 7 of GF adv plan.  Next week, on 6/2, I have my 1st race of the season, an Olympic distance A race that I want to taper next week.  I've been hitting my numbers and have no injuries to speak of at the moment (knock on wood!)  Week 8 of the GF plan is a testing week so I know I need to modify that.  I was thinking of doing the workouts from the last week of the short course plan.  Does that sound reasonable?   • Thanks!  Placed 3rd overall at my local Olympic tri  Wanted a better bike split but it was raining on and off.  The roads were a little slick so I didn't want take chances.  On the plus side, it gave me a good run.

    I'm now doing the GF adv weeks 5-8 again before jumping into week 12 of HIM adv.  Looking ahead to the HIM plan, it calls for 3 swims a week.  I can (and have) swim a 31-32 min HIM on 2 days a week.  I'd like to use that 3rd swim as a bike instead since that's my weakest area.  Do you have any suggestions for the type of bike ride I should add.....hills, intervals, ABP, Z1?

  • Lisa, that's fine to do that, it's a function of where you put that fourth bike in relation to everything else. Your options are Monday / Tuesday or Friday. Monday and Friday are around the big weekend which I want you to crush. Then you have Tuesday, but that's the same day as your interval run and right before your bike FTP ride. image

    If you are serious about a 4th bike then we'd need to shuffle your week. It would have to be Tuesday / Thursday / Sat/Sun on the bike. Then the long run is Wed and the interval run is Monday. Let me know how you proposed to map out the week and we can go from there!
