Bike FTP Thread for week of May 27, 2013

I am able to hit this intervals on an off and on basis. What about you kids? 100% hits, or do you have some misses

  • Completed the week 17 int HIM plan FTP test outside.  I am a newbie cyclist and this is the first time I have ever done any type of bike hard interval outside, let alone a 5'/20' FTP test!  The whole thing went pretty well, and the numbers are pretty much where they should be, I think, although I believe I left some watts on the road.  The route I picked was a bit hilly so I managed to frighten myself a bit bombing down the hills spinning out in 54/11 trying to keep the watts up- but I stayed in aero and hopefully improved my bike handling skills and confidence a bit.  Now I'm looking forward to attempting all the FTP workouts outside!

  • I got 2 out of 3 :-) But I'll be back out there again tomorrow because I'm not doing a long run.

Nice work Satish- FTP testing on hilly courses is never easy.
  • I have some bit fit issues that I'm trying to work out just did an FTP ride with no test as prescribed this week. I'll save the test for another week when I get dialed in better.

  • After a looong day of work I managed to get my FTP ride in yesterday late afternoon. Did the 8+12+20" FTP on Palomares road (good venue as there is almost no traffic).

Pre-nutrition/hydration was bad - really bad ... I really struggled during the 20" interval but found some motivation and pushed through
