Run FTP Thread for week of May 27, 2013

I have been hitting these regularly, but not sure I will get it in this week. I'm a bit sore from my Half Mary yesterday.

  • Week 2/8 marathon hack, tempo intervals 2 x (8' MP, 2' LRP, 8' TP, 4' LRP). The final TP interval requires a bit of concentration, but since I am using a Half Marathon VDOT instead of a 5K VDOT, these intervals are a bit easier than during the OS: MP @ 7:45/39, TP @ 7:04/3. So far, running every other day, 30-35 miles a week, with a lot of MP and TP work. New process for marathon training for me, I think it's going to work on race day without putting a hole into my IM prep which starts 2 weeks before the marathon. I *almost* like running now, at these slightly slower paces. Tomorrow I swim and do some "5x4/4" 110% intervals on the CompuTrainer.
