I did the Timberman sprint last year and one thing to be aware of is that there are a lot of rocks underwater (running depth, not swimming) as you are approaching the swim exit. I ended up getting a pretty good cut on my foot on the rocks. Also prepare your dolphin dives. I did those last year almost the entire way to the first marker. It was that shallow.
@Maureen and Mark - you will love this race! Beautiful swim...best ever! Bike course not too bad, and the run had amazing spectator support! Well run all around. Looking forward to doing it again. Have only done it once, but happy to answer questions for you!
@Larry - I don't recall dolphin diving the swim at the HIM, but do recall some rocks on way out too. Wasn't that horrible for me. I just recall being wowed by the beautiful lake! Swimming is my least favorite disciple, but honestly did not mind the swim at Timberman. Great experience!
