race on June 9th

I reviewed what I did differently at TXIM and I had set power at average reading.  I probably burnt too many matches.

my ave for the bike should be about 114 118 range.  how high should I let number get on the Eagleman?  no hills, lots of heat and wind steady effort.

  • @Patricia...ouch! lesson learned for sure. For Eagleman it's a function of the impending heat. If you are in a damage control situation, being a conservative on the bike can help a bit. We usually recommend 80-85% of FTP, or 93 to 98 watts. The hotter it threatens to get, the lower you dial in that number...and drink drink drink!
  • my zone 2 is 110 to 118.  so I'm thinking that is 80 to 85%

  • much better but no Kona spot. oh well. did get a roll down for Las Vegas and came in fourth.

    kept power under control and did not walk on the run. just really tough competition.

    double strength on the EFS and only two salt tabs. 19.7 on the bike and run was a little slow but reasonable pace for heat. still issues with sighting but my time was not too bad. Next month, Alcatraz swim!
