Custom EN Tri-Suit

I like racing in a tri-suit... Would like to represent EN when racing.... Willing to purchase a custom EN logo tri-suit and currently considering Kiwami which offers this service.

Questions.

Do I have permission to use the EN logo?

Has anyone  done this before?

Comments or suggestions?

Thanks Tim,

  • Dave tallo has done i believe
  • That would be cool. Let me know if we are able and how the process works
  • Last summer, I sent a Pearl Izumi jersey to them - they did a GREAT job screening the EN logo. As I recall, it was somewhere in the $30 range - and that included shipping. I will try and find the details in the archives
  • There was a doode that used Kiwami last year to make a custom ITU spec'ed suit. It was a great thread. Hard find now tho... As I recall, RnP gave there blessing and shared some art files....
  • I guess if that were the case we could also use said art files to create a different color EN tri top?
  • I'm a trisuit fan as well.  I've been using the DeSoto ITU suit but am curious about the Kiwami as well.  Let us know what you find out!

  • I have two custom Kiwami tri-suits...they are outstanding. If you get them the artwork, let me know cause I may need another.

@Jaime...although the reseasrch purporting to show that red athletes perform better has been debunked:

There's this to consider...watch any triathlon as the competitors go by. Which color outfits are the easiest to spot? If you're family/friends are waiting for a fleeting glimpse of you, what color do you want to tell them to look for? IMO, red stands out best, and thus is an advantage of the EN Kit.
  • Tim - I love racing in a Tri suit also.  No tops riding up & getting the infamous smile sunburn on your lower back.  If you can make this work, please let me know as I'd like to order 1 also.

    Thanks

  • I'm still waiting to hear from R n P that we do in fact have permission to use the EN logo's. Sent emails as well.

After IMMT 70.3 next week , going to check out the Amphibian Primo (more of a short course suit better for swimming ,rear zipper, no pockets, minimal pad) and the Konami(more of a long course suit, front zipper, pockets , and a minimal pad), decide between the 2 , and order one. Andre @ Kiwami has been very nice and helpful... The cost is very reasonable @ roughly $12 per logo and $7.50 if you want your name...
  • Hi Tim,
    Sure, go for it!
  • @ Tim - I have the Amphibian (no pad) and the Konami. I wear the Amphibian for sprints and olympics. The advantage of the Amphibian is that it is basically a speed suit in it's own right. It is fully ITU compliant with the zipper in the back. The Konami is for a long course and I've worn mine in a few HIMs. It has the same speed suit properties but does have one rear pocket. The Amphibian can actually be used as a speed suit for the Konami but I raced mine without one. The zipper is in the front and it is the only thing I don't like about it. It needs to be longer for miserably hot runs. I think an Amphibian Prima would be a better choice than the Konami provided you don't need a zipper in the front. When I race in the heat, I pull the back zipper down on my Amphibian just like you see the pro's do in ITU. The longer I have raced the less I have needed pockets. They simply are not necessary. The only other caveat I have is that I still want a two piece outfit for Ironman. But if you can easily piss yourself on the bike then a one piece is the way to go.
  • @Rich.... full speed ahead... pun intended

@Paul... thanks for the feed back on the 2 suits.... agree with you and dont care about pockets either... have to weigh the front zip to the back zip... If I think I can stay cool enough in the Amphibian I will go that route since it will most likely be faster in the water and on the bike... I'm not interested in a swim skin... I want one suit from swim to finish!
  • Update....

Kiwami sent me 2 suits to check out.... Unfortunately I did not care for the fit or the pad vs the Blueseventy I have ;-( But they said they print on other products as well... So I am in the process of finding out how to have Kiwami print a custom EN logo on my Blueseventy!

Woody or anyone who has done this ... What did you send in for the Logo? Picture or an EN product with logo on it?
  • Thanks for the update.  Bummer to hear about the Kiwami.  What Blue Seventy suit do you use?  I may stick to the DeSoto but I'm always tinkering around...

  • I think I have the 200 tri-suit zipper in the front and the current model is the 300. Just like the fit and pad better than others I have tried. I have a desoto and don't care for the fit.
  • Tim...email engearguy@gmail.com for a few trisuit options.
  • @Jeremy Thanks I did contact engearguy ....

I have sent in my Blueseventy suit to Andre at Kiwami to customize with EN logo...

What I/they need is the "Vector file of the EN logo with work is speed entering the body and the x/b1 " I dont even know what a vector file is. They have the EN logo but it doesnt have the work and 4keys on it!

    Anybody have such an animal....

Yes got an email into the EN gearguy....

FWIW this appears to be rather affordable , Maybe EN can produce these files available to us , so that we may use them on custom gear if we do not like the choices of EN gear!

Want to represent but wanna wear what I like!
  • A vector file is just a hifgh resolution graphics file. I ave never owned the software to open one, but in my business it is a popular format for advertising because it is easy to work with...
  • A "Vecor Logo" is a resolution independent logo (as opposed to hi-res, lo-res).

R or P should be able to get them to you. I may have some EN vector logos, but not the X/B1. I'll poke around and see.

  • Tim,

I kluged a few EN logo files together for you. I recreated the X/B1 as well. You may want to wait for the official versions, but these are close.

Any competent layout person / designer should be able to work with these files.
  • Tim - I can't open that link but if someone from EN Sent it I'm sure they're fine
  • I knew it was something like that. Somebody in print is always asking and then i need to secure said file from someone creative.... Oh, the humanity.....
  • Kiwami customized my BlueSeventy TriSuit...   $46 dollars....  I gotta say Kiwami and Andre were amazing to work with!

  • Cool. Do they have a tall skinny size?
  • @ Tim - that came out great!
  • I tried on Kiwami stuff and while it was really good quality I just didnt like the fit compared to my blueseventy..... They offered to screen that ... I just thought that was awesome they are willing to screen other gear besides there own. Very impressed with them.... Check out there stuff when you get a chance Robin!
  • Very cool. looks good
  • You are too thin for Kiwami to fit you right!   And I'm glad you weren't wearing the new gear when you took the spill.  When my EN outfit wears out, I think I'll get another Kiwami made up like yours.
