FEEDBACK WANTED: Ironman Execution Wiki Page Updated

Team,

We have update our Ironman Execution wiki page to reflect our changed guidance since it was last written, we've consolidated resources, etc.

We'd appreciate your feedback, recommended edits, additions, etc. That said, keep in mind that we want this page to be top level, must know, start here content, drilling down to specifics (if required) elsewhere.

Thanks!

  • Yes, this looks great. Thanks for the update!
  • I dont see a plug (link) for the heat pace calculator... The link provided to Patrick's blog suggests that, on a 95F day, one should go 18 sec/mile slower. I would respectfully disagree. Closer to 1.8 minutes might work for most mortals in an IM.

Also, are you really setting 250 cal/hr on the bike as the floor (minimum) for nutrition intake? Smaller women and men, older folks like me whose GI system has slowed might get overloaded trying to fill up at that rate?

Finally, maybe a specific emphasis at the start to use the forums ( race execution and race specific) for more in depth discussion of the nuances of these recommendations. There is asuggestion about that, but it's kinda buried in the swim part.
  • R,

A couple of infos I always struggle to find (and don't see them here) are the Run Pace Charts and the Marathon Pace Planners (in the end I always find them somewhere in my computer but never in Wiki ....).

TIRP: while it was built for IM I have applied the 50% rule to the recommended pace adjustment and last two races (very hot) seemed appropriate. Might want to note that and or ask others to test.

I guess you did not like my Florida 70.3 race report!!!

  • Thanks for the feedback, we're implementing these recommendations now. I'm also drilling out the HIM execution doc, will be done shortly.

    Anyone else??
