Computer Display

Looking to compare what people display on their computer when using a power meter.  I am using a Garmin 500 and currently just have the basic Watts, Cadence, Distance and elapsed time on my main screen.  Starting to think about what I should be focusing on race day on that little blue and gray screen.

  • 3 second power and Average/Normalized Lap (5 miles) power. I don't really look at anything else. I don't race with a HR strap.
  • Garmin 500. Screen 1 = 3s power, speed, distance, IFF and Power Zone.
  • HR, NP lap, 3s Power, time
I have mine set for 7 miles (Typically 20-24 minutes per section).
  • Racing it's all power and HR:
    immediate, 3s, 30s, lap avg
I use a second screen for
Current HR with immediate, 30s, and lap avg

I define laps based on my race plan.

Training I typically add a third screen for cadence, lap-time, time-of-day, distance... things that don't matter for racing (but may for training)
