What is the height of the Perform bottles on the IM course?

My plan is to use the nutrition being offered on the IM course this year in an effort to simplify my plan.  There's just one catch.  My Felt DA frame is super tiny- so tiny that one of the standard bike bottles won't fit on the frame (I have to use those little shortie bottles- 20oz size).  I've not been able to get my hands on a real live Perform bottle that gets handed out on the course to check if it will fit on the frame.  Can someone tell me what the size is of those bottles and what the height is so I can figure out if I'll have any problems with this plan?

  • Here's what I can come up with....
It fits in a standard cage-> so it must be of standard diameter/circumference-> it holds 20 oz.

Therefore, if you have a 20, not 24, oz bottle then it should be the same*.

    * because the bottle shown is just a screw cap, not the sipping cap. I think that sipping cap adds some height, I'd guess .5-.75 inches based on my experiences.

Sorry, that's the best I could do.
  • They are pretty short. I ran one between my arms most of Sunday and it was shorter than the 16oz bottle I started with.

    8 5/8 "

Perfect!  Thanks Tim.  I happen to have a Nathan bottle that is exactly that size and it fits the frame just fine.  WHEW!  One less thing to worry about.
