I'm sick, Dude!

That's what my grand daughter always says... but honestly, I did a bunch of shifts in the ER that were very tough, I'm over worked n the office and my husband says the sands from Saudi Arabia are causing increased dust n Austin.... Really!

(runny nose, cough, scratchy throat, no fever) I thought it was allergies but I sound like a frog and look like one too! (kind of green :( )

anyway, as much as I am trying to heal myself, I have not been successful.  I have not done any workouts this week... and this weekend the roller coaster starts again (two night shifts in the ER).  the good news is I slow down in July and August.

so any issues with me doing nothing but eating chicken soup and drinking orange juice this week?  I am doing 'RestWise" and my score is 60 although it is better than it was.

  • never heard back from you coach, but then again I'm sure there is not a lot to say.... except rest.
Most of me says it is time to get back but I'm still coughing a bunch of junk. no work in the ER this weekend. the good news is I worked enough to fix the windows in my houseimage this has nothing to do with training!
  • PR - I am totally not surprised. image You were all in with the races and on your down time were working in two-a-days between shifts. Something's gotta give....and it did. Plse continue to rest until RestWise gives you a 70 two days in a row. Then you can do easy S/B/R until your score gets up to 80...then it's back to a rhythm of training. Plse rest now to be your best when it counts!!!
  • I got good scores on my restwise and am at 90%. I did a run and an OWS last week (I love Barton Springs... swam without wetsuit or goggles as water is normal pH and 68 degrees.... Lovely!) and two yoga sessions and a spin class... not the killer one, just the aerobic one before yoga. so I am good! and feel great... except.... my ruptured disc is acting up.... so I go to the physiatrist this week and likely will need another ESI... it is strange.. I can run and swim without pain but if I get on the bike it is excoriating!
It sucks to get old! This week I should be great and ready to go and the last time I had this disc issue I was better quickly so I have great hopes for return to kick-butt training soon.
I did ER shift July 4th, and one last night and another tonight so at least I'm able to pay bills..... next month have reduced load in ER... thank goodness!
Thanks for everything on this Patrick.
BTW, I got an app for my phone called heartrate that is free so I don't have to carry my pulse ox from the office around with me.
  • Thanks for the update....and I am jealous of your swim! I have that same app, I love it!!!!!
