Jimbos mid season

I'm in that mid season time frame (heat,humidity,wind etc) for staying healthy and doing short races only. The second HIM season picks up late July. Ive had good success this season. The OS was great and the first HIM plan went well. Now I'm in the Get Faster segment. Is there an article describing the purpose of GF or does it simply come down to most folks simply need to pause, regroup and work on regaining lost speed etc? Mucho thanks

  • I use the GF plan as a mid-season speed pop:

    • After a round of IM or HIM training I drop people into the GF plan -- volume goes down, intensity goes up = creates opportunity to get faster.
    • The volume/work in the plan is a good fit for people doing their second A-race short course event in the season. That is, rather than have them simply repeat the SC plan I have them do the GF plan instead.
