  • yeah, I laughed out loud when I read that.  Man, they're just askin for it over there...

  • Who will kick off the EN campaign of misinformation, saying PMs are useless???
  • "I think racing by feel gives you a much better chance of dealling with a long distance under variable conditions than trying to be a slave to a set target."

I think the misinformation campaign has already begun...

  • Someone please start the campaign of misinformation -- this art school girl wants to kick slowtwitch bootie, armed with her power meter.

  • HA! Good ol' Mike Prevost, former EN WSM who left tris, just lays it down in post #28. Love it!

  • awesome! The misinformation is alive and well on ST.

Coach P, I think the Evil Tri Coach should fire up some videos and a twitter personality we can all retweet and link telling everyone race a disc wheel sell your power meter, race with your legs...not your head, 300-360 tss for an IM bike leg, kill the swim and bike hang on for the run.

  • Hey,

Just got in from the IMSG ride. Ripped a video, exporting it, will load up on the web and will be in the forum soon. Looking forward to reading the ST post .

BTW, it's disinformation. Misinformation means you just got it wrong. Disinformation means you got it wrong on purpose, to trick someone else

I thought Military intelligence was an oxymoron?!? LOL

  • The really bad thing about all those ST posts, is that some folks new to tri's are going to read that crap and buy into it.  Then go to an  IM race and try to figure out why most of those wizards are walking. Wow!!   You should chase the guy in front of you no matter how badly you blow up on the run, to try and catch one guy? Are you serious?    I hope these guys are 45-49 if they are racing LP. Wow!!

  • I would call it the "bravado of the fake tough and the stupid brave." Wannabe badasses giving badass advice so they can be badasses. My experience, however, is that people in the real world recognize principles of risk, reward, managing the relationship between the two, understand the principles of time investment and that getting it wrong on race day is essentially throwing away months and months of training.

90% of real people understand that "just lay out there" isn't a solution for a 10-16hr day. The investment, the risk, and the cost of failure is just too high.

I also see many coaches out there who, either through lack of their own racing, years coaching, or exposure to many different kinds of athletes, just have not, or won't, learn the lessons that come over time to a coach who is paying attention.

Perfect. No need to say more...
