Missed week 8 Big training day. Is it okay to do it for week 9?

I had a small but painful bike crash two weeks ago.  My left thumb had some damage, not broken per X-rays and the road rash on knee, elbow etc...But, I did a minimal week with trainer work and some runs.  Now, that I am almost completely healed up and feel good and since I missed the big training day in week 8, I was wondering instead of week 9 I should do week 8 and then jump to week 10 on my 20 week Ironman plan. My thoughts are the big training days are that important so it needs to get done.  

Thoughts?

  • @Steve, sounds like a plan. That said I suggest you do week 9 this week through Thursday, Friday swim only, then Sat = Big day, Sun = off...then Week 10. Good luck with your recovery!!!
