TriTimmy's Personal IMC Macro Thread

Rich, on short notice I decided to do Whistler, and after returning from France was to load up the IM plan. Then the following 2 weeks were a write off due to family emergency 2,000 miles away. That all being said:

This week is wk#14, i did some biking last weekend in prep for a power test this week. I did my test last night (wed) and am really happy with the results and how i feel today going into my 2hr run (given I had not biked for 4weeks).

Looking closer at the IM plan, there is a test wk#17.

What do you think, ride my numbers out to Whistler (maybe bump 2-3% before calculating race paces) or would there be any true gain after just 3 weeks going into that test?

  • We generally don't recommend you add / SWAG any watts to your FTP to account for any gain that may or may not happen as a result of rest of taper. We'd rather you ignore those watts, don't use them on the bike so you have them on the run.

  • Thanks Rich, I get the 'only use earned numbers' and that answered 1/2 my question. Is there any point in testing in week 17 given I tested in week 13?

Maybe, depends on if you feel your numbers have changed and "need" to test to confirm/determine. Up to you.
