Leslie's setback
Hi Patrick,
When I spoke with you on the phone a few days ago I didn't realize how sick I really was. It ends up I have strep throat. I've been on antibiotics for two and a half days now. I'm beginning to feel better but I'm far from well. I've now missed my whole last week of peak training including the race rehearsal. Tomorrow begins the official taper. Truthfully I'm a bit panicked. Any advice on how I should handle the coming week assuming I'm well enough to begin some light activity by tomorrow and more by Tuesday? Do I have to throw in the towel re: LP? Depressed in NY. This is my third illness since I started training for LP.

You don't have to give up on LP...the RR is practice, not fitness. Let's have you ride 4 hours on Sat at RR pace, work on fluids / pacing / etc...its your real target for this week other than just getting back on track with some light workouts. Sunday off for sure (or if you do it Sunday then Mon off)...race day is going to be SO EASY after what you've been through!
