Bursitis

Ok..  my ART guy seems to think my knee problems for the past couple weeks is probably bursitis.  Never had it before but after I run hard my knee is extremely tight and sore in the MCL area for the next day and eases up with RICE.  My A race olympic was this past Sunday and I'm already planning on not running/riding this week and icing 3x a day.  You folks that have dealt with this, did you come back slowly to the run?  Just run easy for a certain amount of time?  I can tolerate everything right now but I don't want it getting worse and throwing a monkey wrench in my HIM plans for October.

  • Tough call as in your case most likely caused by over use of the knee joint. Warning is it may take a lot longer than a week to put this to bed hope not. I'd go to a PT who deals with athletes, this is an itis thing that comes with age and inflammation of that area. I'd start using glucosamine and drinking green tea and or changing anything in my diet that could help with inflammation.
