Mary's Short Course Training Plan

 Hello Coach Patrick and Fellow ENers,

I am heading out of town for a few days and will be sitting in the car for up to 10 hours. 

This is going to impact my ability to get workouts in on Saturday and next Wednesday. 

Is it ok to do Sunday's run on Friday and then complete Saturday's workout on Sunday?

  • @ mary -- that your plan is perfect. The worst part about your weekend will be the long drive! Do your best to break up the effect of all that sitting with some periodic stretching. I'm sorry I missed this earlier, I had a crazy weekend!

    I am racing a sprint tri this weekend. What do I do about Saturday and Sunday workouts?

  • We drop these workouts in favor of a great race. If your races on Sunday then Saturday is off or a short 20 min. run. Then race on Sunday. If you have more energy, you can always add an easy 30 min. run or 60 min. bike after the race. Either way the goal is to come back on Monday at full strength, so make decisions accordingly.
