What's This Hip / Leg Injury?
The injury feels like a small "pull" in the joint on the front of the R leg. And, it's accmopanied by a dull pain that covers the front of the upper leg, to about halfway down the front of the lower leg. At its worst, it impairs cycling a little, but it passes. Running is a mixed bag, where the first 10 seconds of starting out hurts the entire leg, but the pain passes. But it comes on occassionally mid-run.
ITB Rolling, and rolling at about the midpoint of the rec fem on the front shows some obvious tightness, and brings some relief. But this has been with me about 2 weeks.

location we are talking anterior distal half of the thigh, through anterior knee, to proximal anterior half of the leg?
worst at knee or just distal to knee or just proximal to knee?
deeper or more superficial?
So maybe a peri-patellar tendonitis. had something similar some years back. exercises for the knee extensors worked for me. pushing through the pain a bit. took several weeks to rehab after some physical therapy direction.
Maybe have something like a stress fracture ruled out with xray. and further investigation if continues (like bone scan or mri).
