Bike Test - Question about my results

So I did my 40 minute bike test this morning.  Felt pretty good about my results:

> 14.58 miles

> 21.87 mph

> Average HR 151

When I filled out the information online there were two items I had questions on (I spent some time searching the site but couldn't find an answer - though I'm sure it's out there somewhere):

(1) The "20' Test Normalized Power" field - what am I supposed to input into this spot?

(2) The "Functional Threshold Power (FTP)" field - This looks like it supposed to auto calculate but it says "0" - thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

  • Those fields don't apply unless you are using a power meter. Are you training with a power meter? That's the only way to get those values. Without a power meter you will use either the heart rate info or the Rate of Precieved Exertion scale.
  • Dino - Thanks!! No power meter for me - maybe someday though.

Part of me was thinking that was the case but I figured I'd ask just to be sure. Appreciate the response.

If you do these tests on the same course, improved fitness will show up as longer distance for the test (ie higher average speed).
