Garmin Edge 500 software upgrade

IMMT is a week away. I received a notification there is a software upgrade for the Garmin Edge 500. I am inclined to hold off until after IMMT to upgrade. Does anyone have any information on the upgrade? Also, does anyone think I should upgrade the software before IMMT? Thank you.

x3 on ain't broke... I'm two weeks out from IMLOU and just not dealing with that... There's a thread on ST that I think explains what the s/w update does:

It's a piece of software so it's not like the world is going to spontaneously combust. I say upgrade.

I'm just an innocent bystander here ... The only Garmin I have is a 310... But shouldnt you be a bit wary of Garmin upgrades after reading this thread:

@Al - that is the thread that caused me to pause before upgrading. With my race less than a week away, I think I will wait to upgrade to the newer software. Thank you for the responses.
