Wheelbuilder aero disc cover crack solution.

During the past 7 years of packing my bike for air travel to triathlons I have experienced cracks in my Wheelbuilder aero disc cover on every flight except for maybe one. I use the Ironbox with lots of bubble wrap but continue to find cracks is the cover when I open it at the race destination and when I get home. I also frequently notice TSA has opened the box and not put things back the way they found them.

Thus far I am on my fourth new cover or found a sticker about the size of the defect to cover it. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a better solution? $79 is not excessive unless you multiply it by 4 or 5.

I actually hold onto my wheel covers and carry them on the plane, just tie them together with some twine. I then put them on at the race venue.
