Quarq battery drain issues?
I have had my Quarq since May/April and have had to replace the battery twice now. Both after less than 5 hours of ride time, 100 miles.
My LBS informed me that there is a known issue with Quarqs and battery drain that can occur, so Quarq emailed me the fix. I have to manually short the circuit to allow for normal battery consumption, however it is not a guaranteed fix.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so - did the manual short fix the issue?

My bike rests against a wall, or is in my trunk or on a bike rack pressed against my car with the crank pressed against something (my car, my trunk or a wall). I will short it out and try keeping the bike on my trainer stand to assure no pressure to see if that helps.
Similar problem. Maybe. My Quarq S975 seems to drop the power signal for an unknown reason. My head unit is a Garmin 510 and I also wear the Garmin 910XT. I use both to pickup the power & cadence signals but right now the signal is not there. I checked the battery with a volt meter and it was OK. I replaced it anyway just to make sure but that did not fix the issue. I contacted Quarq and they sent me the instructions for the Hard Reset, which I did. It worked for a few days. Then the signal was lost again. Its a bit intermittent now ... sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Quarq wants me to send them them the S975 unit. I'll send it to them after my last major Sprint race in Chicago at the end of this month.
The last task and phone call in was similar to the first one was flip the battery. But, it was explained to put the battery in as if it were a coin and ensure that it touches the sides to get a good reset. I asked several times for him re explain the 'putting it in like a coin' with no further explanation. Anyway, I ensured that I touched the battery on the edges while the prongs were lifted after tightening the battery compartment. But I said to the guy, even resetting this it's not gonna work because it still stops recording after it resets itself and I start a new ride each week. I sent it back and got a new spider. So far so good. So back to the initial thought, I went back, grabbed a multi meter and tested my batteries that I thought were bad. Nope, all still good. 2.97 to 2.99 v for each battery. They tend to go bad at less than 2.5v so still plenty of good riding in them.
Just my experience.
