Heard the beep-beep-beep of several along the course at IMMT yesterday. At first I didn't know what the sound was, thought I was crazy (partially, am).
Thanks all. I checked out the Seiko, but ended up going with this one as it was only $10 and appears to be a bit smaller/lighter. Will report back on how it functions.
I started with the foot pod (and still use it for data capture) but I found that it wasn't nearly as reliable a method to 'force' me to run with a higher cadence. The metronome almost puts me in a trance that I can just follow pretty closely for a long time instead of having my cadence drop over time on runs.
Just received my Metronomes (bought two so I have a backup and they are pretty cheap at $10 shipped). Very small/compact. Volume can get downright loud. Clip is strong and would easily secure to belt or visor.

John Withrow does... Send him a PM..
Small, light, inexpensive and haven't crapped out on me even during runs in the rain.
Joe and I both use them regularly. I train and race with mine. Love it and it has really helped me get my cadence up and stabilized. There's a discussion about it following my Quassy race report here: http://members.endurancenation.us/Forums/tabid/57/aft/12080/Default.aspx
