week 10 big bike rides on weekend

Hey coach the family and I took a long weekend or a quick getaway this week.  

I was supposed to do 2 long rides this weekend just was not able to fit them in.  It is o.k. to miss the swim and run on Monday to get a long ride in? I did get a sprint triathlon in saturday which was very hilly for a good 15 mile ride. Then was also able to get away for 9 mile run thursday in some very hilly terrain also.

Just looking for some input for the Beach 2 Battleship full in October.

    I did get a good 26 mile bike in at the first of the week.  I am also hitting the Wednesday 1hr today.  Then I am going to have to do my long day workout on Friday due a death in the family and funeral on Saturday.  But I am looking at getting another bike in on Sunday since I will take Saturday off.

    Thanks for the help and the training plans, so far I feel great.

    A quick question for you. Do you ever feel ready for your first full IM?  The sprints and Olympics I don't even blink at anymore.  And I am not really nervous about the half I have next month in Oklahoma.  Looking at as just a long training day like you suggest, and going to work on nutrition.

    looking forward in my training schedule. week 15 training is going to fall on my HIM in Oklahoma. I was wondering if I should switch week 14 and 15 so that I don't miss my long training ride of 6 hour and 1 hour run.

  • @richard, never too many questions!!! yes you should switch the Fri/Sat/Sun of the Race Rehearsal one week earlier (sunday off)...then on the HIM week you can train through Wed, then dial it back. Info in the Wiki under Self Coaching!!!
