Official IMCanada Race Day Thread

The Team EN tracker and all other related links are on the Dashboard. This place is where you can keep the Team updated on what's going on, your observations, etc....it becomes a really cool record for the athletes to review afterwards too!!!  Thanks Te

  • Big whack of MOJO to my IMCanada teammates. Let's go get'em.
  • Good luck to everyone racing! Can't wait to follow everyone tomorrow.
  • Good Skill to all!
  • Thx. Will skill away. And thanks for the luck.
  • Here's to a great day of Ninja Execution! Enjoy the race.
  • God luck ENers!! Looking at Glenn Hartrick's bike splits (a Mapso member and fellow Runner's World featured athlete along side of EN alum Jonathan Lieberman) indicates there must be one hell of a descent in that third bike leg. Mercy!

  • All EN Ninjas are out of the water safe. Now onto the fun stuff.
  • Whoops, looks like the IM Canada servers are not updating. Either that or everyone has been eaten by a bear.

  • We have some people who are FLYING half way thru this this difficult bike course: Agent Bob M., Jenn Edwards, Sheila McCann (F 50-54), Sukhi Muker (check out his T1 time), Dans Cioaca and Stevens, and Robin Sarner. Jenn, Sheila, and Sukhi (remeber, he's a RUNNER) in particular may be headed for high finishes.
  • They can all run too.... Robin is capable of a sub 3:30 marathon!
  • As a fellow athlete over 50 I am so impressed by Sheila ! Awesome bike split. You go girl!
  • Some kind of nasty hill work going on in that run leg leading up to the 26.2 Km split.

  • This time change thing is gonna KILL ME!

I'm glued to the tracker....work tomorrow be damned! LOL!

Come on guys, get it done! You got this!

(And yes, there must be SOMETHING prior to that 26.2KM mark that's slowing everyone down, but I thought the total elevation gain was only 700 feet on this course? Maybe it's all in one place!)

  • Pretty sure I just saw robin cross the line...looking good. Very tall
  • Yep that was Robin... Just saw Dan Cioaca too!
  • Another very solid run from Robin.

Curious to hear about the bike course, I'm thinking there's a whole lot more elevation than the 4.2k that the IM site claims.

  • Trevor - I had friends ride it a few weeks back and got 5600 on their Garmins.
  • Just general observations, but now that all the results are in, it was extremely competitive out there in the KQ hunt. It seems like the promise of double slots drew a significant number of would-be potential qualifiers from other races. Kind of ironic that looking at the times and how tight the groupings were, looks like you'd have had a better chance to KQ at some of the less popular 50-slot races like IMLOU this year than you did at Whistler.
  • thanks all.

pretty complete race for me.    with adjustment factor for tough bike, may be a personal best overall race.

trevor the stats seem to support your idea.     and subjectively this was my worst recent ranking with my best performance.

had to slow down on the later half of the run.    gi issues (always something new to figure out each race.     I assume too much fluid and gels on the last tough climb on the bike.     though I did the same nutrition plan that I did for two successful cool races last year).

around mile 23 on the run, had a 3 minute potty stop for gi blowout.    glad I didn't miss kona by that much (me 32nd.   rollldown to 16th.    19 minutes out of the money.)     though when I make kona, will be happy to finish with poop streaked legs.

  • congrats to all our racers.

special mention to our highest ranker  Sheila McCann.     very close to the podium.   and darn close to qualifying.
