Ralph's Macro Thread
Hi Coach,
I have done a bunch of sprints (5) this summer and have an Olympic to finish the season in 2 weeks. As I look forward to 2014, It is my plan to do one or two HIM's and work up to a full IM in 2015 (3 year plan).
Since the 70.3 race signups are looming and they supposedly fill up pretty quickly, I need to pick my schedule. I was leaning towards Augusta in September as one of the races since it is close to home. I was hoping that I might also be able to do Raleigh on June 1, 2014.
There are some local sprints that I might do in there for fun if it won't screw my training up.
Questions: 1 is that a reasonable plan? and 2 How should I set up the offseason and leadup to June? 3 will doing an occasional sprint in there screw up my training?
Thanks
Ralph

Hey Coach,
When I had you plan my season I was shooting for the Raleigh 70.3 in June but that is the day my daughter graduates from High School so I had to pick another race. I am looking for an early season Half and the one that seems to be the best fit is the Tri Charleston 1/2 on April 19. I was then planning to do the beach to battleship full in Wilmington in October.
I would appreciate your thoughts on how I need to change my plan to be on schedule for April 19 and how to proceed from there.
THanks
R
Hey Ralph,
Below is the Season Plan I made for you in September:
On Feb 17th, rather than loading up the GF plan, load up the HIM plan instead, setting it to end on this new HIM. We'll then talk after that race about how to switch gears for the rest of your season.
Have a great Holiday.
