An endorsement for TT Bike Fit

Just wanted to put in a plug for TT Bike Fit after I got back a decent race picture from this weekend.  My bike fitness is pretty low right now, and either my legs were sucking wind or my Garmin was picking up too many zeros... :-)  But nonetheless, I averaged over 21 mph at a power that I would hope to be racing an IM at on a fairly flat, but extremely windy (and relatively hot) day over the weekend.

A caveat...I am a less than flexible 49 year old...

Anyway, I worked with Todd at TTBikeFit.com a couple of years ago and got his advice.  He helped me out and he taught me.  He got me in a better position, and he showed me what to think about.  Over the next year or so, I actually tweaked things myself, including shortening my cranks, which let me raise the seat a bit.  My best fit now is not exactly what Todd had me doing, but I would never have gotten there without his help.

Below are two photos taken from the same local Oly race, four years apart.  The top one is 2009, i.e., where I started before I got involved with Todd.  The bottom is from a couple days ago.  I now have 14-15 cm drop and, as you can see, my head is in front of my body instead of mostly above it.  My back isn't any straighter than it was 4 years ago, but I'm a lot less of a sail than I used to be.  I haven't constricted my knee-hip-shoulder angle.  I'm sure there's something to critique about my fit, but I'm pretty happy with it.  The only disadvantage is that the big drop means that it's more work to look up the road than it was when I was up so high.  (Yes, I have upgraded some equipment since then, but I am confident the biggest thing is my fit.)

Just thought I'd toss that out there in case anyone is on the fence about giving them a go.
