Post HIM training

I raced yesterday at Rev 3 Cedar Point and don't know what plan to load.  I would like to run a marathon this fall and will probably run a half.  Don't have any definite plans at this point.  What plan should I load?

Have you read this blog post?

  • Had not read the blog post, now I have.  I understand the concept.  I may or may not run a marathon this fall, I don't have any plans.  If I decide to run a marathon, it will be for fun.  I would like to have a plan that allows me to get faster at the triathlon.  What plan should I load?

Ok, we still highly recommend you don't run a marathon this fall even if just for fun. See our notes on that blog post re the lost opportunity to become faster, which is your stated goal in your post above. Notes for you:

    1. Please take the Season Planning Survey, under the training tab above, and tell me what races you're doing next year so I can plan 2014 out for you.
    2. We'd like you start the OS with everyone on October 28th.
    3. Until then, you could do either the Bike or Run Focused training plan, leveraging the fitness you have now to improve on the weaker of those two sports.
