Post season/ preseason swim plans

Was wondering if there are any plans to develop swim focus plans to be used before start of OS? October- December is typically swim technique focus for me. I would love it if there were plans that I could plug in and follow. If not do people know of any decent sites to look at?

  • http://www.swimsmooth.com/ this is a good site and the DVD is worth the money.

yeah I gotta a plan... You come up here to NH and teach me how to swim a sub 1hr IM with no wetsuit! Really why dont you write us one , you probably could???

... Check out he the Tower 26 videos on youtube with Gerry Rodriguez.... some different and I think good theories for triathletes... no drills, lots of snorkel, high stroke rate, no paddles , ankle bands are some of the technique and work he suggests.... I did a lot of that stuff last year and became a better/faster pool swimmer, unfortunately it didnt reflect in my races this year ( I raced 4 times so far this year and only had 1 great swim) ???? the others about normal for me.... so I didnt have the breakthru I was hoping for but gonna work on it harder this winter...
  • No answers, but I will say as a former college swimmer there is a very noticeable difference from pool swimming and OW swimming with a wetsuit. I think the "look down" position in the pool causes people to swim "butt up" in a suit and that causes extra drag and loss of time. I also notice a difference in cadence, faster in suit than pool. I never get to do OW swims except races so YMMV.
